The journey of HorseBeats began in 2014, providing equine services out in the pasture of Eagles Wing Ranch, in Zavalla, with our horses there and to other ministries in Angelina County. Tempered by years of planning and prayer, we took a leap of faith and started HorseBeats Equine Assisted Services in March 2025.

Our trauma informed care approach is rooted in compassion and recognizes the powerful human/horse connection and the therapeutic benefits of interactions with horses. This connection, along with our core values, guides every aspect of our work.

  • Empowering People

  • Embracing Compassion

  • Prioritizing Safety

  • Fostering Holistic Wellness for lasting life transformation

At our core, we provide equine services to at risk youth, human trafficking survivors, people in crisis and individuals who struggle with the affects of trauma/complex trauma or PTSD. We also provide equine services for those with other mental health and emotional issues as well as behavioral concerns.

At HorseBeats Equine Assisted Services we are dedicated to bringing hope and healing to individuals and families in and around Angelina County while contributing to the foundation of a stronger community.

The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. Psalm 23:2

Our Christian values are paramount in shaping our mission and interactions. First, we honor God in all that we do. We emphasize love, compassion and respect for all, mirroring the teachings of kindness and service found in scripture. Our programs are designed to support personal growth and healing while cultivating a sense of community and belonging. By weaving biblical principles into our approach, we encourage people to have a deeper connection with themselves, others and God through the life changing power of the horse.

This environment reflects our commitment to honoring the dignity of every participant, creating a space where they can thrive.

We reflect the love of Jesus, guiding participants toward emotional and spiritual wellness.
